Athletics gives international students the opportunity to make connections with local students, become a part of our greater community, and learn important soft skills like leadership and teamwork. • Camp Farwell for Girls 2024, Newbury, Vermont, USA

  

  Camp Farwell is the first girls sleepaway summer camp in Vermont, the first girls overnight summer camp in New England and the first girls summer camp in the United States. Founded 1889.
  
  Campers choose their own activities each week and follow that schedule Monday through Friday. There are five activity periods in a typical day--three in the morning and two in the afternoon. Some activities are grouped by age, some by ability and others have a random grouping.

• Hawaii Preparatory Academy is advancing the cause of sea turtle conservation

  

  The HPA Sea Turtle Research and Conservation Program offers you the opportunity to join scientific efforts focused on the recovery of endangered sea turtles. Since 1987, HPA students and faculty have captured, studied, and satellite-tagged over 3,900 turtles throughout the Hawaiian Islands and at international research sites in Japan, Australia, New Caledonia, Fiji, American Samoa, Taiwan, and the Republic of Vanuatu.
  
  Students in grade seven and higher are eligible to participate in the program. Typical research trips involve capturing turtles in shallow coastal waters; taking biometrics and completing health assessments; and, if turtles are not already tagged, inserting passive integrated transponder (PIT) tags into each hind flipper.

  As students begin to enroll for the 2022-23 school year, we wanted to share a few updates regarding our own visa process, as well as news from the US State Department regarding visa processing to help our students.

  The Dept. of Homeland Security updated their visa regulations recently to allow schools to send digital copies of the signed I-20 forms to students rather than mailing the physical/original document.
