Wasatch Academy (Mt Pleasant, Utah) Equestrian and Rodeo programme

Locations

The Wasatch Academy equestrian program recognizes the importance of horses for many students and provides a range of expert training and guidance. Competitive riders can develop their Western and English riding skills under the tutelage of former champions while recreational riders can explore the many trails that wind through the surrounding mountains. From beginning to advanced, our equestrian program offers something for every student.

Students can choose from eight horses owned by Wasatch Academy or bring their own horse.

Rodeo Team

The Wasatch Academy rodeo program builds cowboys and cowgirls into top rodeo athletes and champions. The competition rodeo team practices hard, competes hard, and studies equally hard. You see, even though Wasatch Academy has been building one of the premier high school rodeo and equestrian programs in the nation, our goal always is to provide students a safe, trustworthy educational environment built around the values of dignity, respect, and kindness. For decades, this has prepared Wasatch Academy graduates for success in college and the world.

Students have fun and enjoy the day-to-day interactions with friends and fellow students, instructors, and the bridge of challenging academics to activities and outdoor adventures. (Oh, and don’t forget the horses!)

If you are a rodeo athlete, how would you like the opportunity to practice your events multiple days each week? Can you see yourself as part of the Wasatch Academy High School Rodeo Team that travels each weekend to compete in high school rodeos and jackpot events?

English Competition Team

The English Competition Team allows riders of all experience levels the opportunity to become better riders and showcase their newfound skills in a competitive setting. The students will focus on correct position on the flat and over fences. Competitive students will travel to shows in Utah and other parts of the United States showcasing their dressage, eventing, and jumping skills.

Students on the English Competition Team will be able to take advantage of our facilities, horses, and English riding instructor to gain skills, knowledge, and confidence while doing what they love. We are able to offer options for different levels of riders from beginner novice to intermediate.

Recreational Riding

Students riding for the first time or who just want to learn will embrace our recreational riding group. With access to our beautiful riding facility and mountain trails only minutes away, our location provides adventure and solace. Whether a student wants to try different events or disciplines or just wants to enjoy the great outdoors via horseback, this is the program for them.

Through a partnership with the City of Mt. Pleasant, our equestrian program operates in one of the largest equine facilities in the state of Utah. The facility includes an indoor arena, outdoor riding pen, galloping track, 20 boarding pens and 100 hundred acres of open pasture.
