Layton Christian Academy, Layton, Utah
LCA was begun with this purpose – to train young people in the ways of God. Every year we are painfully aware that some students resist this training and fall by the wayside. Our prayer is that as they grow older they will allow these principles to get a foothold in their lives. Fortunately, they are the few among our student body. Each year I watch with great satisfaction and joy the spiritual development of our students, knowing they will contribute mightily to the body of Christ in their lifetime.
In recent years we have moved toward a more global community, and all indications are that the world will continue to truly be a smaller place. Layton Christian Academy is located near a United States Air Force base and serves many of these families through our school program. Many Air Force families have been stationed overseas. There are also foreign military personnel stationed at Hill AFB, some of whom have elected to send their children to Layton Christian Academy. Because of this, LCA seeks to provide an avenue for international students to attend our school.
To that end Layton Christian Academy seeks to provide a high-quality, student-centered education
- in a Christian environment
- with a Christian perspective
- allowing a cross-cultural experience both for the visiting student as well as resident students
The courses at LCA are primarily taught in English. However, for students that are not proficient in English, ESL personnel are available to provide assistance. Additional fees may be required for this service.
Layton Christian High School’s goal is to provide an outstanding Christian-based educational setting that will minister to each student’s needs and enhance his academic success. Our high school program has some of the best faculty in the state of Utah and we are proud to have each member as a part of our team. We also have an awesome and growing student body with each student being actively involved in one or more school activities that helps promote and develop school spirit, good citizenship and academic excellence.

Study at Layton Christian Academy
Our Curriculum:
We use Bob Jones textbooks for the majority of our curriculum. Bob Jones is a Christian textbook publisher that integrates a Christian perspective throughout the student’s day-to-day studies. Bob Jones is used for our English, science and history curriculums. We use a series of books by Glencoe for our math curriculum and our Spanish curriculum is by Holt Publishers.
We currently offer a variety of Honors classes at each grade level. Students that would like to enroll in an honors level course must be self-motivated and able to handle the high expectations of the course. A student must have earned a “B” average in the same subject area the previous year to be eligible for honors courses.
Each year students have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of educational programs that serve to enrich their learning experiences. Some of the activities LCA offers or has offered include: Mountain Man Rendezvous, Science Fair, History Fair, Black History Bowl, Essay Contests, and January Term
Student Activities:
In addition to their coursework, concurrent and advanced placement opportunities, and other learning experiences, our students have a wide variety of student activities in which they can choose to be involved. Some of these activities include: drama, choir, speech and debate, student government, National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society, missions trips/work, cheerleading, sports, and community service.
