Storm King School students feature in Brine National Lacrosse Classic
The Storm King School in Cornwall-on-Hudson (New York State, USA) is proud to announce that two of our talented young student-athletes, Tiana Vazquez (class of ‘19) and Shania Roehrich (class of ‘19), will represent New York State at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic later this month. The tournament will take place in Richmond, VA on July 18-23.
For the past decade, the Brine National Lacrosse Classic has brought the nation’s top youth and high school lacrosse players together for three days of high-level competition in front of NCAA collegiate lacrosse coaches from every division. This prestigious tournament features more than 1,000 premier players from across the country that are selected based on their skills and sportsmanship demonstrated in regional tryouts.
Tiana and Shania have enjoyed tremendous success as the key members of the girls lacrosse program at SKS. The young starlets have scored 71 goals combined during the 2018 campaign and have led the team to its best record in the young history of girls lacrosse on the Mountain. Both students also excel in the academic arena and find themselves among a select group of high honor roll students.

This season, over 75 of our international students are participating in fall sports! Athletics gives international students the opportunity to make connections with local students, become a part of our greater community, and learn important soft skills like leadership and teamwork. Today we offer more than 50 teams at many different levels, and all students are encouraged to get fit and have fun by joining a team—whether they are new to a sport or a potential New England champion. Many of our coaches also serve as faculty, which allows them to teach and coach through a holistic lens.
